Primary Market

Working with emerging, mid-career, and established artists, our primary market artworks come straight from our artists' studio.

By determining the position of works on the market, we afford collectors the opportunity to purchase published, never before seen, or commissioned pieces.

At DASH the primary art market takes center stage as we proudly represent a diverse array of talented artists and their captivating works of art. We are committed to nurturing and showcasing emerging and established artists, acting as a dedicated platform for their creative visions to flourish.

Our mission is to curate a collection that not only reflects the artistic pulse of the contemporary world, but also supports the unique voices of our artists. We work closely with each artist, fostering their careers, and providing spaces for their art to be seen and appreciated by collectors and art enthusiasts alike.

Our role in the primary market is not merely transactional, but deeply collaborative, building lasting relationships with our artists and partners as we champion their innovative expressions.

It's our privilege to be the bridge that connects artists with their audience, and we take immense pride in representing the creators who shape the art landscape with their talent and passion.

Secondary Market

Once artwork has been purchased for the first time, it enters the secondary market where prices are determined by factors including past auctions, condition, provenance, and significance.

While art fairs and gallery shows are key for exposure, the inclusion in a museum is the best way to boost an artist's market and career. The most direct route to success in the secondary market comes from visibility and exposure.

The secondary art market plays a crucial role in the world of art, serving as a dynamic and ever-evolving ecosystem for collectors, galleries, and art enthusiasts alike. We recognize the significance of this market and actively engage with it to foster relationships with artists, collectors, and buyers.

The secondary market enables us to showcase the enduring value of art by featuring works from established and emerging artists that have garnered recognition over time. It not only provides an opportunity for collectors to diversify their collections, but also allows artists to reach a broader audience.

We represent both buyers and sellers involving the resale of artworks whether through auction houses or private sales.

DASH is committed to curating a selection of artworks that stand the test of time, bridging the gap between past and present to create a rich tapestry of artistic expression that transcends generations.

The Anti-Gallery

Fine art compliments fine settings.

By offering a lease program for organizations that are uncertain on purchasing permanent works for their collection, we created the anti-gallery.

DASH Fine Arts — The Anti-Galley, was conceptualized in December, 2019 shortly before the devastating effects of the Coronavirus took place.

When businesses began closing doors, DASH pivoted from the traditional brick-and-mortar gallery concept and instead invested in fine works of art and artists' talent. DASH is pleased to own 100% of its secondary market inventory outright.

We partner with leading corporations in industries from hospitality and sports, to entertainment and fashion by providing fine art that aesthetically enhances spaces.

Our Gallery Works can be found in nearly any high-end atmosphere. From private member clubs, to dining establishments and even fine homes on the real estate market, our partners help make our works publicly accessible, in turn establishing the "anti-gallery" gallery.

Through our loan design service, and at no cost to our partners, DASH transforms empty spaces into seamless transitions of consecutive works that are admired and available for purchase by their patrons.

Advising

With investing in fine art, it is significant to note that the asset class has outpaced the S&P 500 for 25 years. While the performance of any asset class varies wildly from one year to the next, from 1995 to 2020, the S&P 500 returned an average of 9.9% per year. Meanwhile, contemporary art returned an average of 14.3% per year during the same period.

Not only is original work a monetary investment, but an investment to your health and overall energy. Finding the right piece that has a story behind it brings excitement. They say you can't buy happiness, but there is a feeling of satisfaction and pride that accompanies owning fine art.

Owning original art means that there is no one else in the world who has exactly what you have and we are excited to join our clients and partners on their journey of finding the right works for their space.

Whether for monetary, aesthetic, or historical purposes, we create collections in environments that reflect a space’s life, personality, and motivations.

As an advocate and representative, we negotiate pricing, vet paperwork, and create bespoke collections that emulate the quintessential “you.”

The peripheral benefits of owning established art for a period of time can often lead to a diverse portfolio, with works becoming long term investments.

We understand that art is a deeply personal and multifaceted experience, and our mission is to help navigate the vast world of art with confidence and clarity.

Our dedicated team is here to curate, educate, and guide clients in their artistic journey. From helping source and acquire exceptional pieces to offering insights on emerging artists and trends, our expertise extends to all aspects of the industry.

Let us be your trusted companion in unlocking the magic of art, making it an enriching and rewarding part of your brand.

Appraisals

For every work we represent we research and build provenance—the history of an objects' whereabouts or ownership that tells the story of its life.

Provenance is vital documentation that can be just as alluring as a work itself, and may even impact a work's value.

The research process of art provenance is a meticulous and often intricate journey that delves into the history and ownership of a work of art.

Ideal provenance details the history of a work back to who made it, when and where it was made, who then owned it, as well as what collections or exhibitions it may have been a part of.

This process typically begins with a comprehensive examination of the artwork itself, including its physical characteristics, such as signatures, inscriptions, or labels, to determine its authenticity.

Simultaneously, archival research is conducted, which involves investigating historical documents, exhibition records, catalogues, and correspondence. We rely on interviews, testimonies, and recollections from previous owners, as well as museum and gallery records.

In some cases, cutting-edge technologies like scientific analysis, such as carbon dating or pigment analysis, may be employed to further validate the artwork's origin and age.

The goal of art provenance research is to create a clear and verified chain of ownership, shedding light on an artwork's journey through time and ensuring its authenticity and legitimacy in the art world. This process is vital for both collectors and institutions, providing invaluable insights into the history and context of a piece of art.

We partner with licensed appraisers, galleries, auction houses, forensic analysts, and organizations to record comprehensive and accurate provenance.
